Activity Room re-opens after refurbishment.
Our building was closed for 2w in August while a complete refurb of the main activity room was carried out. Thank you to the many Mates came along during that time to help out with the preparation and re-organisation. There also needs to be an extra big Thank You to Stacey, aided and abetted by Dave and Alan for the amazing organisational skills in getting everything done during those two weeks!
A team from Scarborough Mates fit carbon monoxide alarms for local elderly people.
A team of four handy Mates fitted carbon monoxide monitors and checked loft insulation on behalf of YCSS during the months of August and September. Scarborough Mates will be receiving a donation for their hard work. Thank you Charles, Richard, Lou and Mike who travelled as far North as Whitby, and as far South as Hunmanby to do the fitting, and to Dave, our Chairman who did all the organizing!
Scarborough Mates receives a generous donation from Scalby Fair Committee following their assistance in marshalling at the Annual Scalby Walk.
A group of *** Mates, together with a team of volunteers from Newby and Scalby Library, spent a damp Easter Monday helping with the marshalling of the Annual Scalby Walk. Mates and Library volunteers were sent out to various strategic spots along the route to keep walkers on the straight and narrow and help at road junctions.
As it happened, the rain wasn’t too bad, and a good time was had by all!
